GoFundMe
Hi, my name is Paula Jones and I'm a writer from Louisiana who happens to have type 1 diabetes, celiac disease, and hashi-graves disease.
I work full-time and have health insurance, but -like many people with chronic illness- I still have difficulty affording my insulin and thyroid medications.
Quite often, a trip to the pharmacy ends in tears and a lack of medication due to its cost.
In fact, two weeks ago, after rationing my insulin to cut down on expenses and not taking enough of it for months, I had to be hospitalized.
After I was released, concerned friends asked what my plan was, as in, "How are you going to make sure you get the insulin you need to stay healthy?"
When they posed this question, I realized my only option was to somehow bring in more money. But how does one do that when they barely have the energy to maintain one full-time career?
When I was younger, I often had 2 or 3 jobs at the same time. These included physical labor, such as cleaning offices and houses. But my body can't handle that kind of work anymore.
So, I realized I needed to start depending on my writing skills and knowledge of the self-publishing process.
This brings me to my current goal, which is to write, self-publish, and advertise a novel that brings in enough royalties to allow for the creation of a small publishing company through which I can successfully market and advertise my own books as well as other indie author's books.
I'd also like to use my company to help struggling writers advertise their books free of charge.
But all of this starts with the successful publishing and advertising of one novel- the one I'm requesting help with on GoFundMe.
If you have the means to assist me in covering the cost of publishing and marketing/advertising this novel, I would be delighted to send you an autographed copy.
Thank you for taking the time to read this, and even if you chose not to help me, there may be other people on GoFundMe who could use a helping hand.
Thanks again and hope you have a great day!

Either way, you are wonderful and thank you for even visiting my website!
